Join Kappa Sigma

Becoming a member of Greek Life at the University of Kentucky has been a tradition enjoyed by thousands of students in Lexington. Kappa Sigma has been critical in the development of these organizations, as we, along with two other organizations, were granted the first Greek charter by UK on April 5, 1901. Since the founding of the Beta-Nu Chapter, we have seen numerous alumni lead successful, fulfilled lives, including the 2019 Kappa Sigma Man of the Year, Jim Stuckert. Throughout our time in Lexington, Beta-Nu has not only has established itself as a premier Greek organization at UK, but also as an elite chapter within the fraternity.

Today, our chapter is continuing to progress at a rapid rate. The chapter house, perfectly situated in the middle of Greek Row and only a short walk to the William T. Young Library and several classroom buildings, serves as a social and educational hub for brothers throughout the day. Equipped with a kitchen and full-time chef for our brothers living in the house, a chapter library, weight rack, and several televisions, I can speak first hand as to how great the opportunity was to live in 441Pennsylvania Avenue. I had the chance to meet my best friends, live in a great house, and make some memories that I will undoubtedly never forget.

Our brothers are also heavily involved in other organizations throughout campus, including club sports, ROTC, and several others. Many brothers also team up in intramural sports, where our teams have had continued success in both the flag football and basketball. One of our brothers’ favorite events to get involved in is Dance Blue, a 24-hour dance marathon to benefit the pediatric oncology unit at Kentucky Children’s Hospital, where our brothers raised over $8,000 last semester!

So, why should you join Kappa Sigma at UK? My favorite part about being a Beta-Nu is having young men from different walks of life all striving toward excellence together. Having such a wide range of majors, interests, and hobbies, there is constantly someone to help with whatever you may need. Whether you are considering joining Greek Life to make new friends, enjoy the social events, or any other reason, the brotherhood that comes from being a member of the Beta-Nu chapter of Kappa Sigma is absolutely unmatched. Please reach out to us today and stay updated with all of our rush events for this coming semester.
