Beta-Nu’s Mic Wilson ’78 Named Kappa Sigma’s Executive Director Emeritus

Brother Mitchell B. Wilson (Beta-Nu, University of Kentucky, ’78) has given a lifetime of service to the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Since joining the International Headquarters staff in 1980, Brother Wilson has served in several roles, but most of us know him as our Executive Director, a role which he has held with distinction at since 1987.

For the last 43 years, Brother Wilson has helped support our undergraduates excel and implement the visions of our Supreme officers. His work has been essential to furthering Jackson’s Dream and making Kappa Sigma the Brightest Jewel in the Fraternal World—and A Brotherhood Like No Other! For his numerous contributions to the Order, Brother Wilson was inducted into the Kappa Sigma Hall of Honor in 2013 and is one of only six living Hall of Honor members.

Brother Wilson has informed Fraternity leadership that he intends to step back from the day-to-day duties of Executive Director effective June 1, 2023. After this date, Mic will continue to serve Kappa Sigma sharing his time between the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund and the General Fraternity. We know he also looks forward to extended time with his wife, Joan; his son and daughter-in-law; and his beloved grandchildren—John, Paul, and Gentry Grace.

No one can replace Mic Wilson. When this change occurs, and in recognition of his achievements, the Supreme Executive Committee will honor Brother Wilson’s legacy by recognizing him as Executive Director Emeritus, a title and recognition never-before bestowed on any brother in Kappa Sigma’s 153- year history.
